Paddlers wanted for the Annual NC Wildlife Federation Catawba Canoe & Kayak-a-thon: Paddling for conservation

June 18, 2005 beginning at 9:00am and lasting until lunch. Volunteers will paddle a stretch of the Catawba River to raise money for wildlife. This is a 7- mile paddle within the Mountain Island Lake section. Participants will begin at the Duke Power Riverbend Station and paddle to the Highway 16 Bridge. Lunch and shuttles will be provided. Participants must provide their own canoe or kayak along with PFD s and other needed gear for this enjoyable fundraiser.
There are many prizes but the big one is a Stillwater 14, a 14 foot canoe from Great Outdoor Provision. Click here to see the canoe, it is the 14 foot, http://www.otccanoe.com/canoes_stillwater.php
. All monies generated are tax deductible and will go towards the North Carolina Wildlife Federation's ongoing efforts to protect and enhance the wonderful wildlife and habitat in and around all NC river basins for you and future generations to enjoy!
Join us for this fun and an important day to support wildlife conservation!

Site look funky?  Your browser is so old standards-based layouts and styling confuse it.  Consider updating.  Good options include:  Mozilla (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Mozilla Firefox (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Netscape v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Opera v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Galeon (Linux),  Konqueror (Linux),  Apple Safari (Mac),  Mozilla Camino (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v5 or higher (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 or higher (Windows).  All are free.  Because of security concerns I personally avoid Internet Explorer.  It may or may not be more buggy than its competitors, but its prominence and Microsoft's notoriety make it the most frequent target of malicious crackers.
