The water temperature alone is worth the effort involved in doing these runs. Makes for a long day, but the river in the evening is a most comforting place to be, with good friends along to share the cool water with. All the runs this summer have been well attended and all have gone off w/o a hitch. Been a few swims, but that's normal and actually seems like a good idea at the time. The water level has been crazy, yesterday was the lowest yet, around 2800 at Marshall, so some features that we were used to seeing were noticeably absent. The 5500 evening two weeks ago was awesome with the wave at Sandy Bottom being nicely large. Steve H, Megan O, Lani did some shreddin. It was also good to meet some new folks, and to paddle with some folks that I hadn't seen in a while. The tandem run I did with Megan O'reilly last week was great fun, was fun to brush the rust off my open boating muscle memory. Was kind of nice not to have to suit up in all that gear when it's so warm. Missed you last night Sue. Sadly, the summer days are getting shorter, and there will be time for three or four more runs on Wed. Noticed it was almost too dark to see last night at a little after nine, so y'all try to make the last couple runs if you can. The evening run armada is a really good thing to do.

Site look funky?  Your browser is so old standards-based layouts and styling confuse it.  Consider updating.  Good options include:  Mozilla (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Mozilla Firefox (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Netscape v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Opera v7 or higher (Linux, Mac, Windows),  Galeon (Linux),  Konqueror (Linux),  Apple Safari (Mac),  Mozilla Camino (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v5 or higher (Mac),  Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 or higher (Windows).  All are free.  Because of security concerns I personally avoid Internet Explorer.  It may or may not be more buggy than its competitors, but its prominence and Microsoft's notoriety make it the most frequent target of malicious crackers.
